The need for safer, better-performing batteries keeps many clean energy technologies from widespread commercial adoption. However, progress in the battery industry is limited by at-scale diagnostics that are surface-deep at best. This leads to poor insights about the internal health and physical condition of batteries. In medicine, new imaging techniques revolutionized diagnostics and quality of care, but this shift has yet to happen in batteries. Similar to how medical ultrasound is a non-invasive way to see inside the human body, Feasible's core technology uses ultrasound to non-invasively inspect the internal condition of batteries. Our proprietary method, which was developed with ARPA-E and NSF funding, provides unique insights about batteries quickly, in real time, and at scale. At Feasible, our vision is to improve the safety and performance of batteries with better diagnostics.
